Annalie Blokker-LWA Quantity Surveyors has embarked on a program of employment and training of young black professionals with the aim to improve and develop their skills in order to promote them to management level as soon as possible. We have an internal mentoring programme whereby time is allocated by the professionals in our office to train our candidates both on site and in the office situation. The attending of educational workshops is encouraged so that skills are continuously developed. In addition to our permanently employed Black employees, we also support students in their studies.
Our Patrick Waterson is accredited as a Mentor for Emerging Construction Industry Contractors by the Department of Quantity Surveying and Construction Management of the University of the Free State from 26 November 2007, and as such we are perfectly positioned to assist not only our own staff, but also smaller emerging companies.
We are in the process of setting goals and strategizing around each of the pillars of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment so as to remain compliant with transformation legislation, thereby contributing to the economic growth of not only our own firm, but also of our country.
As of March 2021, we have been involved with a Youth Employment Program that assists less privileged youths in finding jobs.
